In the news is an article about bed bugs that are infesting hotel rooms in Spain at an alarming rate!   The number of cases has risen and is approaching the level of an epidemic.  The number of infestations rose by 10 to 20 percent in 2008 in Spain, according to a study last year by the National Association for the Control of Plagues (ANECPLA).  The worst-hit regions appear to be the Canary Islands and along the Mediterranean coast, both of which are popular tourist destinations.  The hotel sector has been particularly badly hit. Four- and five-star establishments appear to have been the worst hit.
